AHL Foundation Presents 2022 AHL Art Fair

New York, NY – The AHL Foundation will hold the opening reception for 2022 AHL Art Fair on Saturday, December 3 at AHL Foundation Gallery Space (2605 Frederick Douglass Blvd., New York NY 10030).

presents 2022 AHL Art Fair featuring 28 artists to give visitors opportunities to collect contemporary art by promising artists within an appropriate price range (under $500). Presenting a total of 28 artists, their artwork can be purchased online and in person.

“It is a place where various works such as crafts, paintings, sculptures, and ceramics gather. 28 talented artists, from mid-career artists to emerging artists, gather together to present their works, so we hope many people will visit and support us. I would like to recommend purchasing a special work as a gift to your loved ones celebrating the holiday season at 2022 AHL Art Fair” Curator Sei Ryun Chun says.

Since its establishment in 2003, the AHL Foundation has been actively engendering space for the growth of Korean contemporary visual art in the United States. AHL Foundation provides artists and art professionals of Korean descent with the resources and various programs such as exhibitions, forums, and public lectures, as well as grants and fellowships for artists. In 2022, the Foundation opened a gallery, archive room and an educational space in West Harlem, New York for the public.

비영리 한인 미술인 지원단체 알재단 (AHL Foundation, 대표 이숙녀)이 오는 12월 3일(토) 알재단 전시장(2605 Frederick Douglass Blvd., New York NY 10030)에서 2022 알-아트 페어 (AHL Art Fair)를 개최한다. 본 전시는 다양한 작가들이 작품을 대중을 편한 분위기에서 선보이고, 관객은 적정한 가격 대($500이하) 내에서 작품을 직접 구매할 수 있게 하자는 취지에서 기획 되었다. 총 27명의 작가가 참여하며 온라인 및 현장에서 직접 작품을 구매할 수 있다. 본 전시를 기획 한 천세련 큐레이터는 “공예, 회화, 조각, 세라믹 등 정말 다양한 작업들이 모이는 자리이다. 중견 작가부터 대학교에 재학하며 작업하는 젊은 작가까지 총 27명의 재능있는 이들이 모여 작품을 선보이는 자리이니 많은 분들이 참여하셔 후원해주시길 바란다. 특히 올해는 연말에 사랑하는 가족과 지인에게 줄 선물로 특별하게 작품을 구매해보시는 것을 추천드리고 싶다.” 라고 개최 소감을 밝혔다. 오프닝 리셉션은 2022년 12월 3일 오후 12-3시(토)에 열린다. 한편 알재단은 2003년 설립 된 후 전시, 포럼, 대중 강연 등 다양한 프로그램과 작가와 연구자를 위한 그랜트, 펠로우십을 운영하며 활발히 미국 내 한인 작가와 한국 미술 향유층을 확대하고자 노력해왔다. 2022년, 마침내 뉴욕 웨스트 할렘에 갤러리 및 아카이브 룸과 교육 장소를 마련하여 커뮤니티와 한인 작가를 위한 공간으로 운영하고 있다.
