OPEN CALL for AHL AHLumni Collective Exhibition


The AHLumni Collective is thrilled to announce an open call for AHL alumni artists to showcase their work in a prestigious exhibition at the AHL Foundation gallery in 2026. Thanks to a generous $5,000 grant from Sook Nyu Lee Kim, Founder and President of AHL Foundation, we’re able to make this exciting opportunity possible. An invited juror will select one outstanding proposal to be presented at the gallery.

The AHLumni Collective is a voluntary group dedicated to fostering a supportive community among AHL Foundation alumni. We empower artists by promoting idea exchange, offering resources, and providing opportunities for collaboration and exhibitions. Alumni are always welcome to join our monthly meetings.



Eligibility:

All AHL Foundation alumni artists.


Opportunity & Support:

  • Group Exhibition ( two or more artists): The selected proposal will be featured in an exhibition at the AHL Foundation gallery.
  • $4,000 Stipend: This stipend will cover exhibition-related expenses, including event attendance, artwork delivery, installation, and de-installation and print material.

Submission Guidelines:

Please submit the following materials electronically to ahlalumni2026@gmail.com by September 5, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST:
  • Project Proposal (500 words max): Describe the exhibition concept, including the title, curatorial vision, and display plan.
  • Artist Portfolio (up to 10 images or video links): Showcase the strongest and most relevant artworks of the artist(s).
  • Artist Statement: Provide a statement for the participating artist(s).
  • Artist Résumé: Briefly highlight the artistic background and achievements of the artist(s).

Selection Process:

Applications will be reviewed and selected by Eugenie Tsai, Independent curator and writer.


Juror:

Eugenie Tsai is an independent curator and writer with extensive experience in contemporary art. She previously served as Curator at the Brooklyn Museum and Director of Curatorial Affairs at P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center. Earlier in her career, she held curatorial positions at the Whitney Museum of American Art.

The artist(s) will be notified by October 5, 2026.

The $4,000 stipend is intended to cover exhibition-related costs and is not intended for the production of new artwork.
