Dr. Jinyoung Koh 고진영 교수
Jinyoung Koh is a graduate program director and an Associate Professor in Department of Art + Design, Art History, Art Education at Towson University in Maryland. Dr. Koh completed a Doctor of Education in Art & Art Education from Columbia University in New York. He earned a Master of Fine Arts in Photo & Media from the California Institute of the Arts and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His art has received numerous awards and is included in the collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Rockefeller Foundation.
고진영 교수는 메릴랜드 주립 타우슨 대학교 예술·디자인, 미술사, 미술교육학과의 대학원 프로그램 디렉터이자 부교수입니다. 그는 뉴욕 콜롬비아 대학교에서 예술 및 미술교육 박사를 취득하였으며, 캘리포니아 예술대학(California Institute of the Arts)에서 사진 및 미디어 분야로 미술 석사(MFA)를, 시카고 예술학교(School of the Art Institute of Chicago)에서 미술 학사(BFA)를 받았습니다. 그의 작품은 다수의 수상 경력을 갖고 있으며, 필라델피아 미술관(Philadelphia Museum of Art), 시카고 예술학교(Art Institute of Chicago), 그리고 록펠러 재단(Rockefeller Foundation) 소장품에 포함되어 있습니다.
About the Course:
Art Appreciation: Understanding Art through Diverse Media invites audiences to explore how diverse artistic media shape the way we perceive and interpret artworks. From traditional forms such as drawing and painting to contemporary practices like digital media and installation art, this series offers a deeper understanding of the unique qualities and expressive potentials each medium brings. Through weekly lectures and visual analysis, it aims to broaden perspectives on art and inspire thoughtful engagement with the evolving landscape of artistic creation.
미술 감상: 매체의 다양성으로 작품 이해하기 강연 시리즈는 다양한 예술 매체가 우리가 작품을 인식하고 해석하는 방식을 어떻게 형성하는지 탐구하도록 초대합니다. 드로잉과 회화 같은 전통적 형식부터 디지털 미디어와 설치미술 같은 현대적 실천에 이르기까지, 각 매체가 지닌 고유한 특성과 표현 가능성을 깊이 이해할 수 있는 기회를 제공합니다. 주간 강의와 시각적 분석을 통해 미술에 대한 시야를 넓히고, 변화하는 예술 창작의 흐름에 대한 성찰적 참여를 독려합니다.
