알재단, 2026 봄학기 온라인 미술사 수업 개강
2월 10일(화)부터 5월 26일(화)까지 총 14회 강의로 구성
비영리 한인 미술인 지원 단체 알재단(AHL Foundation, 대표 이숙녀)은 오는 2026년 2월 10일(화)부터 5월 27일(화)까지 총 14회로 구성 된 미술사 온라인 강의를 진행한다. 강의는 한국어로 진행되며, 미 동부시간 기준 매주 화요일 오전 10시부터 11시 30분까지 열린다.
지난 학기에 이어 2026년 봄학기에도 고진영 박사가 연사로 참여해, 현대 미술을 장기적인 시각에서 조망하며 그 다양한 흐름과 맥락을 폭넓게 이해할 수 있는 관점을 제시할 예정이다.
이번 학기 강의 제목은 ‘한국 미술의 물결’로, 수강생들은 미국 주요 문화 기관에 소장된 한국 미술 작품들을 중심으로 한국 미술의 전개와 영향력을 살펴보게 된다. 특히 실제 전시 일정과 연계한 커리큘럼을 통해, 미주 한인들이 ‘이건희 컬렉션’과 같은 국보급 유물을 직접 접하며 문화적 자긍심을 고취하고 정체성을 강화할 수 있도록 구성했다.
강의 신청은 2026년 2월 8일(일)까지 가능하며, 14주 과정으로 구성된 봄학기 수업료는 280달러이다. 접수 및 문의는 info@ahlfoundation.org로 하면 된다.
한편, 강의를 진행하는 고진영 박사는 컬럼비아 대학에서 미술교육학으로 박사를, 캘리포니아 예술대학 (California Institute of the Arts)에서 사진 및 미디어로 현대 미술 석사를 취득하였다. 작가로서 고진영 박사의 작품은 필라델피아 미술관(the Philadelphia Museum of Art), 시카고 아트 인스티튜트(the Art Institute of Chicago), 록펠러 재단(the Rockefeller Foundation) 등 유수 기관의 컬렉션에 소장되었으며 현재 매릴랜드 토우슨 대학교(Department of Art + Design, Art History, Art Education at Towson University in Maryland)의 미술사 및 디자인, 미술교육학과의 조교수이다.

Registration for the AHL Foundation’s Spring 2026 Art History Classes Now Open
14-Week Long Course Runs from February 10th to May 26th, 2026
The AHL Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Korean artists, will hold its Spring Art History classes from February 10th to May 26th, 2026. This 14-week long course will take place over Zoom every Tuesday morning, from 10:00am to 11:30am (EST). Classes will be conducted in Korean.
About the Course:
This semester’s course, titled “Korean Art Wave”, will explore Korean arts which belong to the major cultural institutions in the United States. 2026. By synchronizing the curriculum with real-time exhibition schedules, the course empowers the Korean-American diaspora to reclaim their cultural heritage and strengthen their identity through direct engagement with national treasures like the Lee Kun-hee Collection.

About the Lecturer:
Dr. Jinyoung Koh is a graduate program director and an assistant professor in the Department of Art + Design, Art History, Art Education at Towson University in Maryland. Dr. Koh completed a Doctor of Education in Art & Art Education from Columbia University in New York. He earned a Master of Fine Arts from the California Institute of the Arts and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His art has received numerous awards and is included in the collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Rockefeller Foundation.
